Get started with CoinTracker

Track all your crypto activity in one place to see your balance, performance, and unrealized returns while simplifying your tax filing. Access detailed tax reports, capital gains and income summaries, and your real-time portfolio value.

Create an account

Note: If you sign up with a Google, Coinbase, or Apple social sign-in, you can't change your email address later.

Important: We also recommend avoiding using Apple's Hide My Email option when you sign up. It creates a private email address that isn't linked to your real email and can’t be updated in your CoinTracker account.

Web

  1. Visit CoinTracker from a web browser on your computer.
  2. Click Start for free. 
  3. Enter your email address and click Continue. 
  4. Create a password and click Continue. 

App 

  1. Install the CoinTracker app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open the app and tap Start for free. 
  3. Swipe through the introduction, then tap Create account.
  4. Complete the sign-up process in the web browser that opens.

After completing the steps, check your email address and confirm your email to complete registration.

Add wallets

Add your wallets and exchanges to start using CoinTracker's features. For some wallets we connect directly via API; for others you upload a CSV.

Make sure to add all your wallets, even if they haven’t been active recently. A complete transaction history in CoinTracker ensures accurate tax calculations and performance tracking.

Organize connected wallets 

Rename your wallet after connecting it, especially if you use multiple wallets on the same chain like MetaMask, Solflare, or Phantom. Renaming helps you stay organized, makes tracking clearer, and simplifies reconciliation.

Review your transactions for accuracy

A complete and accurate transaction history is key to accurate taxes. Use our complete transaction history checklist to review your account for accuracy.

Pick a CoinTracker plan

After connecting and reviewing your wallets, you'll get an accurate transaction count to help determine the right CoinTracker subscription plan for you. This is the final step before downloading your tax reports. Learn more about CoinTracker plan pricing. 

You have the option of purchasing or renewing a plan with stablecoins or a card. To purchase with stablecoins when checking out, select Crypto under Payment method. 

File your taxes

After selecting a CoinTracker plan, you can download your reports and file your taxes. CoinTracker emails your tax reports to you and makes them available for download. For help from your CPA or tax professional, add them to your account.
