Duplicate entries can occur due to several reasons:
- Importing the same CSV file multiple times
- Importing a CSV while the wallet or exchange is already synced, which may lead to duplicating automatically imported transactions
- Adding more transactions to an existing wallet via CSV
- Software bugs causing transactions to be recorded more than once
How to find duplicate transactions
To spot duplicate entries, try these methods:
- Review individual transactions: Check each transaction on the Transactions page for matching dates and token amounts. For wallets synced via public address, duplicate transactions will share the same transaction hash.
- Review the transaction history CSV with data tools: Use Google Sheets or Excel to highlight or flag duplicates.
- Check the Wallets page: Duplicate transactions may also cause wallet values to appear doubled or inflated.
Tips to resolve duplicate transactions
- Confirm it's a duplicate: Verify the entry is a duplicate, not a separate transaction.
- For blockchain duplicates: Use the re-import feature.
- For exchange duplicates: Try a re-import first; if it persists, ignore the duplicate and report the issue to our support team.
- Remove a duplicate wallet: Delete a wallet if duplicate wallets are found.
- Ignore the duplicate transaction: If other solutions fail, delete or ignore the duplicate transaction.
