The re-import wallet feature retrieves your entire transaction history from the wallet, applying any integration improvements as if you were adding the wallet for the first time. Manual edits remain intact, so you can use this feature risk-free.
Reasons to re-import a wallet
CoinTracker always uses the latest version to sync new transactions, ensuring accuracy. Our system regularly checks for and ingests new transactions. However, transactions synced before our updates may contain inaccuracies or missing data from wallets.
If you suspect issues with your wallet's transaction history or want to refresh your data with the latest version of CoinTracker, use the re-import button to re-sync your entire transaction history. Long-time users may also benefit from re-importing to update older data.
How to re-import a wallet
- From the Wallets page, select the wallet you want to re-import.
- Click the [...] icon.
- Click Re-import wallet or exchange, then click Re-import to confirm.
- A notification will appear to indicate that your re-import has started.
- A checkmark will appear once the re-import is complete.
If the re-import option doesn’t appear, then it means re-import is not supported for that wallet or exchange.
Re-import wallet impacts on manual edits
Re-importing a wallet will not impact your manual edits. Only transactions without manual edits are updated using the latest version of CoinTracker.
Criteria for manual edits
We determine a transaction is manually edited based on the following conditions:
- Transactions marked as a transfer
- Transactions manually entered using the Add Transaction feature
- Manually-ignored transactions
- Manually-enabled transactions
- Transactions you altered by:
- Changing a currency
- Changing a quantity
- Adding a flow*
- Ignoring or enabling an ignored flow
- Transactions with a user-added (or user-edited) note
- Transactions with user-edited cost basis or proceeds
- Transactions marked non-taxable
*An example of adding a flow: If you traded an unsupported cryptocurrency, an older version of CoinTracker might have shown it as an ETH send with no receive flow. If you edit the transaction and add the crypto to the receive side, we consider that a manual transaction.
How to remove all your manual edits
If you've made manual edits to work around an issue, and we later add support for it, re-adding your wallet with the latest version of CoinTracker may provide a more accurate transaction history.
To remove all of your manual edits, remove the wallet from your account, then re-add it again.
