Managing your portfolio requires accurate transaction tracking. CoinTracker lets you mark unsolicited or unrecognized transactions as spam and revert them if needed.
About CoinTracker’s auto-spam detection
CoinTracker simplifies portfolio management by automatically detecting and hiding spam transactions. These are marked as spam upon import and hidden by default, keeping your account clear and accurate without manual action.
Additionally, you manage flagged transactions through the dedicated spam center in your account:
- General information: View an overview of potential spam and the total flagged by CoinTracker.
- Potential spam: Verify assets that may be spam and control their classification.
- Resolved spam: Review assets marked as Spam or auto-detected by CoinTracker.
Note: Marking an asset as spam affects all transactions with that asset, since they share the same contract address. Unmarking removes the spam status from all associated transactions.
Managing spam transaction visibility
To hide or unhide spam transactions:
- Navigate to the Transactions page.
- Click Display.
- Toggle Hide spam transactions on or off as desired.

- Verify that the transaction reappears correctly in your list and is accounted for in your reports.
More tips for managing spam transactions
- Review spam transactions regularly: Periodically check your spam transactions to ensure accuracy. Mistakenly marked legitimate transactions may be excluded from tax calculations, affecting your tax summary.
- Supported crypto cannot be marked as spam: Transactions involving supported crypto can't be marked as spam.
- Be cautious with transaction hashes: The transaction hash may contain malicious links. If unsure about a transaction, investigate further before marking it as not spam. For more information, see our security best practices.
