CoinTracker automatically categorizes DeFi transactions to accurately reflect wallet activity and ensure proper tax treatment, replacing default Send or Receive labels. For example, staking deposits are marked as Stake for supported DeFi protocols. This applies to self-custody wallets on supported EVM chains and Solana.
Note: Categories may affect tax calculations. Refer to the transaction category definition guide for details.
Check if your transactions are auto-categorized
Review your transactions to see if you’re affected. Look for categories like Staking rewards, Stake, Lending deposit, Add liquidity, or other DeFi-related tags.
These tags will replace generic labels such as Trade, Send, or Receive in your account.
Manage incorrect auto-categorizations
If you're satisfied with the assigned categories, no action is required.
If the classification is incorrect, use our bulk-action feature to make manual adjustments.
Request new auto-categorizations for DeFi activity
If a classification is incorrect or you'd like auto-categorization for an unsupported protocol or DeFi activity, submit a request on our Feedback board.
