CoinTracker automatically detects assets from your transactions, but sometimes we might not recognize an asset when it's imported or it may not be supported yet.
Here’s how an unsupported asset may appear in your transactions and how to resolve this issue to ensure proper portfolio tracking.
Identifying an unsupported asset
- The asset ticker symbol is a placeholder circle, with a solid color and no logo.
- You receive a missing price history error.
Steps to troubleshoot unsupported assets
- If the asset was mistakenly identified:
- Update the transaction with the supported asset instead.
- If the asset is unavailable:
- Create a custom currency then follow the next steps in the article to account for multiple transactions with the unsupported crypto.
- Fix the missing price history error by confirming the proceeds for the unsupported crypto transactions.
Steps to fix the missing price history error
For unsupported assets, CoinTracker doesn't have the token's price at the time of the transaction, so it assumes $0 in proceeds at disposal.
To confirm the $0 valuation is accurate:
- Click the [...] icon next to the transaction.
- Select Confirm $0 proceeds.
To edit the proceeds:
- Click the [...] icon next to the transaction.
- Select Edit proceeds.
- Fill out the details.
- Click Update to complete.
