To ensure accurate tax and performance calculations with CoinTracker, it’s important to input your full cryptocurrency transaction history from every exchange, wallet (including cold storage and hardware wallets), coins, ICOs, trades, and other activities. Refer to our complete transaction history checklist to make sure your records are thorough.
Methods to add wallets to your account
Here are the methods to add your wallets or exchanges to CoinTracker, based on type and support:
- Automatic sync: Connect via API key or sign in to an exchange. Recommended for seamless integration.
- Custom file: Import a CSV directly from your exchange to CoinTracker, no edits needed. Recommended if automatic sync is unavailable.
- Public address: Connect via public address or xPub key.
- WalletConnect: Connect using WalletConnect for additional compatibility.
- CoinTracker CSV: Reformat your transaction CSV to be CoinTracker-compatible. Recommended if other formats options aren’t available.
Access supported wallets
Supported wallets or exchanges are easily accessible through the Add wallet page. To add your first wallet or exchange, search the platform then select it from the menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect them.
Handle unsupported wallets
If your wallet or exchange is NOT available through the Add wallet page, it means it’s not yet supported by CoinTracker. Here’s how to handle unsupported wallets:
- Add your transactions via a CSV import.
- Use WalletConnect.
- Use an extension wallet. To add an extension wallet, use the public address of your primary wallet and rename it. For example, add your public SOL address to connect a SOLFLARE wallet and rename it to SOLFLARE.
