When transactions are frozen, you can’t edit transaction details, update cost basis method or tracking, or delete them. To make changes, you’ll need to unfreeze your transactions first.
Unfreezing transactions may impact your calculations, gains, tax documents, and more due to new historic market data, new third-party data, and other factors.
Important: This feature is rolling out gradually. If you don’t have access yet, check back within the next few weeks.
How unfreezing works
- You can’t currently unfreeze a specific year.
- Unfreezing applies from the selected year through the latest tax year. For example, if you unfreeze 2023, your transactions from 2023 to 2024 will be unfrozen.
Steps to unfreeze transactions
- Go to the Taxes page.
- Click unfreeze in the frozen banner.
- Review the details, type CONFIRM, and click Unfreeze to complete.
Unfreezing can take some time, depending on your transaction volume. Check the status panel for progress updates.
Troubleshoot unfreezing issues
