Use the CSV import feature to import CSV files into existing exchanges or imported wallets (excluding blockchain wallets). This feature helps fill gaps in integrations, such as missing transactions from unsupported activities like staking rewards, credit card purchases, margin transactions, or bot trading. You can import these transactions into an existing wallet in bulk.
Add transactions to an existing wallet or exchange via CSV
- Format your CSV with additional transactions
- Go to the Wallets page > click Add wallet.
- Select the existing wallet/exchange you’d like to import your CSV into.
- Import your prepared CSV.
Best practices for using the import transaction feature
While this feature is convenient and efficient, follow these tips to ensure your account is accurate.
Check for duplicates
Currently, there is no duplication check, so if you import a CSV with transactions already recorded by the integration, they will be duplicated. You should carefully review your CSV files to avoid duplicates and ensure the data is accurate.
Monitor balance discrepancies
You may notice value differences when importing a CSV into an existing wallet or exchange. This happens because CoinTracker uses the reported values from your wallet or exchange as the source of truth.
For example, if you import Gemini transactions via API, CoinTracker will include buy, sell, and trade history but will not import or display balances for unsupported features like Gemini Earn. If you import a CSV for Earn rewards into your existing Gemini exchange, you may see an increase in your calculated wallet values without any change to the reported balances.
Remove imported CSV transactions
Currently, the platform does not distinguish between transactions imported via CSV and those added or edited manually. If you need to remove transactions imported via CSV, utilize the transactions page filters to manually identify and then bulk delete or edit these transactions as needed.
