CoinTracker has enabled a new CSV import feature that allows users to import CSV files into existing exchanges or imported wallets. Blockchain wallets are not currently supported by the feature.
This feature can be incredibly beneficial for supplementing any gaps in an integration that result in missing transactions. Missing transactions can occur for a number of reasons. For example, CoinTracker may not support a specific type of transaction that an exchange or blockchain offers such as Staking rewards, Credit card purchases, Margin transactions or Bot Trading. Some users may want to track this activity in CoinTracker and this feature allows users to import transactions into an existing wallet in bulk.

Cautions When Using the ‘Import Transactions’ Feature
While this feature brings convenience and efficiency, users should exercise caution when using it:
Check for Duplications
Currently, there is no duplication check. This means that if you import a CSV file that has transactions already recorded by the integration, these transactions will be duplicated. Users should carefully check the CSV files they are importing to avoid duplicating transactions and ensure that the data being introduced is accurate and reliable.

Monitor Balance Discrepancies
Users may see balance differences when importing a CSV on top of a wallet or exchange. This is because CoinTracker uses reported values from your wallet or exchange as the source of truth for your balances.
For example, suppose you have a Gemini exchange and import Gemini into CoinTracker via the API integration. CoinTracker will import all supported transactions such as your buy, sell, and trade history. CoinTracker does not support Gemini Earn so we will not display or import balances or transactions related to Earn. This can be the case for other integrations with products CoinTracker does not support. If you import a CSV for your Earn rewards into your existing Gemini exchange, you may see an increase in your calculated wallet values with no change to your reported values.

Removing Imported CSV Transactions
Currently, the platform does not distinguish between transactions imported through CSV and those added or edited manually. If you need to remove transactions imported via CSV, utilize the transactions page filters. Select Status: Manual to identify and then bulk delete or edit these transactions as necessary.
