If you’ve encountered needs review errors, learn how to troubleshoot those specific errors. Otherwise, continue reading for general tips to resolve missing transaction data or incorrect balances.
What causes these issues
- Assets with no transaction history: When the amount held increases but no transaction is recorded.
- Transaction edits: Manually added, edited, or ignored transactions.
- Sync issues: Problems with how we parse data from the provider during sync.
Solutions for missing transactions or balances
- Initiate a manual sync: Click Sync all from the Wallets page.
-
Double-check your API key credentials: API credentials must be correct for syncing to work. They can fail if they are:
- Expired
- Entered in the wrong fields
- Incorrectly input
- Restricted to a specific IP address
- Check the Other Transaction wallet: Manual transactions without a specified wallet are grouped here, which can cause incorrect balances or discrepancies on the Portfolio or Performance pages. Assign these transactions to the correct wallet or delete them.
- Ensure the exchange is operational: Exchanges may experience downtime or outages, preventing CoinTracker from pulling balances and transaction history. Check the exchange's status page (e.g., Coinbase or Kraken) for updates.
- Check the public address: Avoid using deposit addresses from exchanges or centralized services, as these can lead to incorrect balances. Learn more about the available methods to add a wallet to CoinTracker.
