Previously, the ability to edit transaction dates was limited and not available for certain types of transactions. With this update, we're enabling the option to adjust the timestamps for a broader range of transactions, including synced ones, with some exceptions. This feature is introduced as a temporary workaround to assist with tax season and tax extension preparations, with plans to develop a more integrated solution.
Key Features:
- Adjust the dates of your transactions directly from the transactions page.
- Applicable to all transactions, including manual ones, with the exception of multi-operation transactions.
How to Use the Feature
- Navigate to the Transactions Page: Start by going to your transactions page where you'll see a list of your recent activities.
- Select a Transaction: Choose the transaction you wish to edit. Remember, multi-operation transactions are not eligible for this feature.
-
Edit the Timestamp: Click on the

. If the transaction is eligible, you'll be able to adjust the date and time. - Save the Changes: Once you've selected the new timestamp, save your changes. The system will automatically create a new transaction with the updated date, ignoring the old one.
Things to Note
- Temporary Workaround: This feature is a stopgap solution for the tax season. We're working on a more seamless way to edit transaction dates, which will be rolled out post-tax season.
- Two Ways to Edit: For manual transactions, you can still use the edit option on the edit transactions page. For transaction synced via an integration, the new method on the transactions page will apply.
- Exclusions: Multi-operation transactions, which involve transactions with multiple category classifications, cannot be edited using this feature. Multi-operation transactions are common on our Solana integration.
What to Expect
Upon editing a timestamp, the original transaction will be ignored, and a new, manual version of the transaction will be created with the updated timestamp. This ensures that your records remain accurate and reflective of the changes made.
Moving Forward
We acknowledge that having different methods to edit dates in various places may not provide the ideal user experience. We plan to address this and streamline the process during our upcoming planning sessions. Your patience and understanding as we roll out and refine this feature are greatly appreciated.
