Transaction value helps you understand and prioritize your most important crypto activity.
For any given transaction, value represents the fair market value (in fiat currency, such as USD) of all assets sent or received at the time of the transaction. The transaction value column is also sortable by clicking the column header, enabling you to quickly review your largest transactions.
Things to keep in mind:
- Transaction value includes the total value of either all sent or all received assets, but not both. Transaction value does not include fee values at this time. Fee values are instead provided in their own column labeled “Fee”.
- Transaction value may differ with proceeds or cost basis details on an expanded transaction. This occurs because accounting treatment may diverge from fair market value due to fee adjustments, non-taxability settings, and more.
Example 1: This transaction is a simple staking reward. The transaction value is $0.13, as calculated by the fair market value of the stETH when it was received.
Example 2: This transaction is an NFT purchase. The transaction value is calculated as $426.58, representing the fair market value of the NFT token at the time of the trade. Note that the proceeds of the ETH, at $330.21, differs from the transaction value as it has been adjusted (in this case, reduced) by the fee paid.
Example 3: This transaction is an NFT airdrop. The transaction value is $0 as no other price exists for the NFT and hence is assumed to be of $0 value at the time of the transaction.
Example 4: This transaction is an on-chain staking transaction. The transaction value is $1,311.29, as calculated by the fair market value of the stETH token at the time of the transaction. Note that the proceeds of the ETH at $1,297.27 differs from the transaction value as it has been adjusted (in this case, reduced) by the fee paid.
Example 5: This transaction is an on-chain swap, categorized as a Trade. The transaction value is $100, representing the fair market value of the USDC at the time of the trade. Note the received ETH is netted against the sent ETH, hence it does not contribute to the transaction value.
Example 6: This transaction is a send. The transaction value is $1.85, representing the fair market value of the ETH sent at the time of the transaction. Note the proceeds of the ETH differs from the transaction value as it has been adjusted (in this case, reduced) by the fee paid.
Example 7: This transaction is a gas fee only, paid for a token approval. The transaction value is not applicable, as there was no value sent or received in this transaction. The fee value is available in its dedicated column.
