How to purchase a tax plan

Overview

This guide is for users who want to purchase a tax plan for their CoinTracker account. Tax plans can be purchased for each tax year. The purchase is a non-recurring payment for each tax plan you want to purchase. By purchasing a tax plan, you gain access to tax calculations and the ability to generate tax reports for a specific tax year.

How to select the correct tax year for your tax plan

1. Head to the Tax Center using the navigation menu at the top of the page
   

2. In the top left of the Tax Center you will see ‘20xx Tax Report’

3. You can click on this to select a tax year
   

4. Once chosen the ‘20xx Tax Plan’ header will update to your selection

Which tax plan should I purchase?

1. We will automatically recommend the correct Tax Plan tier based on your current number of transactions in a tax year
2. You can view pricing for tax plan tiers here
3. If you go over the transaction count for the Tax Plan tier you paid for you will be prompted to upgrade to the next tier plan

How to purchase your tax plan

1. Make sure you have selected the correct tax year for your tax plan (instructions above)

2. On the right hand side, you will see an information box which shows your current tax plan and, if available, an option to select a tax plan or upgrade your existing plan:

   

3. Click on ‘select a tax plan’

4. You will be taken to the plans page. There is another opportunity to make sure you have the correct tax year selected. You can use the dropdown menu to select the correct tax year as needed:

   

5. The plan that accounts for the number of transactions on your account will be highlighted as ‘recommended’. You can click the ‘Get started’ button to be taken through to complete your payment:

   

6. On the payment page you may see an option to ‘Pay with Link’. Link is a Stripe service to help you checkout faster across thousands of websites. If you don’t want to use ‘Pay with Link’ you can pay using your card details instead. 
   NOTE: If you pay with Link you may need to verify your payment details using text or email. If you have any issues with verifying your payment with 'Pay with Link', please reach out to Link Support.

7. Once you’ve completed payment you will see your Tax Center has updated with the new tax plan details and the option to purchase a plan is no longer there. Your purchase is complete and you can access your tax calculations and tax reports.
